In Wolverton, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to restaurants - we’re certain that a number of different Wolverton-based eateries will be top of everyone’s lists of places they want to visit when they feel ready. But if you’re not there yet, and some restaurants have been understandably more cautious about what opening in the new normal entails, we thought we’d shine a spotlight on some of our top takeaways, specifically our favourite Wolvie takeaway, Mangal Plus on Stratford Road.

A kebab shop with a difference, whether you’re looking for an easy fix for dinner or a post-pub filler, Mangal Plus will sort you out. Their kebabs range from marinated coal-grilled skewers to ‘elephant leg’ doners (let’s face it, there’s a time and a place for them, and that place is Mangal Plus) and come with all the trimmings, whether it be bulgur salad, pitta or chips (which are always hot and crispy). Over lockdown, we came across their family meal options, which were excellent value and ready to pick up in 20 minutes (on account of their grilled chicken wings, which are definitely worth the wait). You can ring ahead to order but there are worse places to wait than their bright and clean interior and small decked patio.

In times of uncertainty, you appreciate the value of reliability, simplicity and good chips. And for that, Mangal Plus, we salute you!
