It is often said that the pub is the heart of a community and Wolverton, with its four very different watering holes, is certainly a town with heart. But the MK Biergarten truly is something special. The smallest of the town’s pubs, this micro-pub and bottle shop punches way above its weight - from its regular Street Food Fridays and Saturday night live music events, bringing us the best of the local food and entertainment scenes, to its friendly and informative Bierclubs, monthly art evenings and excellent beer list.
Handily located between Tesco and the train station, its warmly-lit interior is a welcoming beacon to the weary commuter and anyone in need of recharging after those supermarket crowds. Choose from a varied and exciting selection of beers on tap (including a well-kept cask line for you CAMRA types) or get lost in the range of bottles in store, including classics from Germany, Belgium and further afield - there’s also local cider and an intriguing spirit menu for the hoppily-challenged. The friendly staff will look after you here - it’s the closest you can get to ‘Cheers’ on this side of the Atlantic. We’ll drink to that!
Must-try: The beer list is ever-changing so there’s always something different to try, but Tap 4 always pours from one of Germany’s finest and is sure to hit the spot. Check out their page for the latest Street Food Friday and Saturday live music line-ups.
